The terms sociopath or sociopathy in contrast with the legal base of the terms criminal or crime have psychological and psychiatric grounds. Whereas all sociopaths generally exhibit behaviour, it is not essential that all criminal should be sociopaths. The points above make a distinction between criminals and sociopaths.
